**SPEAKER CHANGE ** Protecting and Restoring Functioning Ecosystems in the Long Point Basin

Friday, January 19 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Kristyn Richardson, Projects Manager with Long Point Basin Land Trust, will speak about some of the initiatives underway to protect and restore functioning ecosystems in the Long Point Basin, an area located in the central Carolinian region. LPBLT currently owns and stewards seven nature reserve properties, and is nearing the end of a campaign to acquire its eighth, the Venison Creek Watershed Reserve. LPBLT is recognized regionally for its efforts to protect and recover species at risk, notably reptiles, through the Conserving Carolinian Reptiles initiative, and for engaging and educating the local community though the Nurturing Nature project.
