We will visit the ponds at the Aylmer Wildlife Management Area and Aylmer Sewage Lagoons to look for Tundra swans and other waterfowl. We usually see some early spring migrant songbirds with some winter birds still hanging on. We walk a mostly paved path towards the rear viewing stand. Then, we will drive to the sewage lagoons to look for more species. Dress warmly as there is usually a wind at the lagoons. There could be some or muddy spots, depending on the weather.
Meet at the main outdoor viewing stand at Aylmer WMA, 10594 Hacienda Road; it is north of the town of Aylmer. Take exit 203 (Imperial Road) and follow the signs towards the OPP College which is just north of the WMA. There is usually a sign with a Tundra swan at the entrance.
