Woodcocks on Woodcock Street (Week 1 of 2 Members Only)
Thursday, April 3 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Join us for a unique opportunity to witness the enchanting American Woodcock breeding flight before this industrial land undergoes development. Experience the magical ‘sky dance’ as the male woodcock performs his mesmerizing display. Watch as he starts with a series of nasal ‘peent’ calls, takes off into a spiraling flight, and sings a melodious song at the peak before descending back to the ground.
No guarantees that Woodcocks will be present but they were here last year!
Dress warm and bring a flashlight and binoculars.
Route to 1922 Mallard Rd #1, London, ON N6H 5M1 (J. Dean Williamson Ltd.) and park along the West side of Mallard Road.
