Wildlife is abundant in the ponds and adjacent wetland and open fields in Komoka Provincial Park – The Ponds. This location is separate from the one along the Thames River.

We will explore several ponds and trails in this natural area just north of Clinton.

We will walk trails near the river to look for early spring migrants and wildflowers.

We will walk along the river and then on other trails to look for spring migrants and wildflowers. For those who’d like to stay until dusk, we will see if the American Woodcocks have returned to the area.

We will walk around Saunders Pond looking for migrating birds and spring plants. The area can be muddy. There are some hills.

See robins, sparrows, goldfinches, woodpeckers, nuthatches, herons, ducks, chickadees, cardinals, and hawks.

Enjoy a relatively easy walk on the Beech Point Trail and the Pine Trail.
We will look for spring migrants. Please be aware that there is paid parking at this site. There are several hills on the trails. For those interested, we can look for American Woodcocks at dusk.
